Zoop began as a dog-walking app and grew into a all in one platform for pet owners, offering services like grooming, pet supplies, and more.

As the lead on design from the start, I helped shape its direction from scratch. I focused on creating user-friendly interfaces, driven by research into pet owners' needs.

I also played a key role in developing the platform’s core features, ensuring they served both users and the business. Throughout the project, I worked closely with stakeholders, refining Zoop's design and functionality to keep it aligned with user expectations as the platform evolved.

There is a gap in the market of a unified platform means they have to rely on multiple providers, leading to inconvenience, time inefficiency, and limited trust in service quality. We aimed to fill this gap by offering a streamlined solution that meets both pet owners' needs and supported local service providers.

Background

This was a freelance project which was a mindchild of one of my colleagues and we gathered a team of developers and designers to make this into a business idea and then a reality.

The business idea for Zoop made sense in India due to the country's rapidly growing pet care market. With over 20 million pet owners in India and a pet care industry projected to grow at a CAGR of 19.2% from 2020 to 2025, there was a significant demand for convenient services. As urbanization increased and nearly 70% of pet owners resided in cities, busy professionals and families were seeking streamlined solutions for pet care

Research & Planning

We conducted in-depth market research to understand the needs and challenges faced by pet owners in India. India's changing pet care trends, gathering user insights through surveys and interviews, and identifying gaps in the market were key to identifying key pain points and paths forward.

Design & Prototyping

We translated research insights into wireframes and interactive prototypes, prioritizing user-friendly navigation and intuitive interfaces. By developing user personas and journey maps, we empathized with users and designed feature-specific screens. Through multiple design iterations, we refined the experience, defended our design choices to stakeholders, and continuously tested and improved them based on feedback.

Development & Implementation

Leveraged agile development methodologies to build the scheduling app from the ground up. Prioritized feature development based on user feedback and technical feasibility.

Testing & Optimization

Conducted rigorous testing across various devices and platforms to ensure compatibility and performance. Gathered user feedback through beta testing and iteratively optimized the app based on usability metrics and user satisfaction.
